H is for hearts - every body has one -

Hearts come in all shapes and sizes and types. Some people have hearts like a stone, or are hard hearted -
Other people have courage, conviction and bravery -
Then of course, there are those who suffer from a broken heart - something that even a cup of strong hot coffee cannot comfort -
Coveting a person or object can make us say we have a burning desire - or even heartburn when things don't quite go as hoped -
Then we have that which can make a heart flutter - diamonds should be involved!
When we are sorry for our behavior we often apologize with our heart in hand -
Then, of course, everyone should have a sweetheart - (of the cookie kind - at the very least!) There are many famous and not so famous quotes about the heart. I would have to say one that made me laugh was a 17th century playwright and architect observation - " Once a woman has given you her heart, you can never get rid of the rest of her.” Sir John Vanbrugh Obviously Sir John seemed to have a way with the ladies or rather had his way with the ladies and didn't know how to get them OUT of his life! And, finally, regarding hearts - songs featuring broken hearts seem to be a staple of the country western genre. Well, if pressed to come up with a hook for a song with hearts in it I would have to say my choice would be my very own little ditty - "You're so mean, if my heart had windows, you'd break every one".

  2. What a delightful post! A few months ago, I stumbled upon a heart shaped potato while cooking. I couldn't resist snapping a photo. No one else seemed amused by my discovery like I was. Go figure. Another time, I accidentally made a heart with my mouse. Again, this interested me & no one else. =D
